YOUNG PEOPLE ARE GIVEN TO MUCH FREEDOM

March 21, 2011

Nowadays families have changed significantly , mothers and fathers spend all day at work, they are too busy and children or teenagers keep staying at home on their own . Actually , they have a good deal of freedom to do what they want . They forget doing their homework and spend long hours in front of the computer playing games. Children admit to being alone and they can afford working hard without an autority. Parents put off working with them after their work-day because they arrive home very tied. Moreover, Spain has a distinctly big percentage sign of noncompletion and we must persuade changing that rate. TO STUFF THIS BIG HOLE in our children´s life we allow them to buy expensive clothes . We do not deny that young people stay out all night drinking , smoking and sometimes they can easily get into trouble by mixing with the wrong people. Parents should think about our responsabilities and that we are risking our children’s future.

    Hi mates!
I am a secret follower of this blog. Indeed, when I am feeling a little sad, it makes me smile. Surprisingly, when I stumble upon an entry about Ken Follet and I am in good mood,
I fall into slight depression. But this will be the topic of another posting.

For now, I only have a little question: Has this text been revised?

    Keep up the good spirit!
I hope you will see me soon (and to give you a hint: I do not refer to my website 🙂 ).

I am more optimistic about young people. Anyway, I think it is true that most parents should need a “parents’ license” (but many people would fail!!). What is the solution?!

What such a mysterious boy you are, Phillip, it will be nice to meet you!! , about your little question which text do you refer?? Yours??
On the other hand talking about children and teenager, and why not young people living at parents´home; I believe that life have changed, there are different kinds of families with one or two mothers or one or two fathers or both of them.
Besides, families are less extensive than before, so the rules have changed too.
Children need love, and a good education and parents are not perfect. All I am saying is we must have a go at it.

The answer is difficult. The main problem is the lack of communication. Certainly, there are a lot of families which need to work very hard to survive, but we must search time to spend with our children and help them in their homework and also to talk about their problems with friends and teachers. Of course, we must not forget to teach them good manners.
Many a time, grandparents have to take care of the children and this is not a good solution.
We would need a flexibility job which allows us to combine our working life with our private life without problems. Unfortunately, this is an utopia.

Hello to everybody! It´s very sad, but I agree with Isabel. I´m a teacher and now I´m working in a school´s library, and everyday I work with children who have different ages, and many of them think as Isabel have said. They are alone in the afternoon and they go home alone with only 11 years. As Lolila have said, in more homes it´s necessary having two salaries to survive, but without forget that having a children is not having a doll. The family education it´s essential to all of us, and nowadays it is sometimes forget. I hope we thing about it, but many people don´t do it.

Nowadays, Spain hasn´t been able to combine working with taking care of the children . A research team from the IESE has published an study ” Diez Años de Conciliación en España” (1999-2009) ,. They have drawn a conclusion , the companies must offer FLEXITIME.

How is it possible ,after ten years, Spain continues to be behind in this subject if we compered it with other European countries?.

If we want to find a balance between working and looking after children we´ll have a long way to cover. One step could be that those companies , which have achived a Certification of Family Responsable ,must be awarded .
