Short story competition

April 15, 2010

Listen to me telling you a story. Would you like to read it too? Then click on “read more”.

After you have listened to my story , please take a minute to do the poll. Our teacher will let us know who is the winner of this competition.

Feel free to write a comment giving a different end or just continuing my story.

There was once a man who always slept alone, I have said ALWAYS because for him, it seemed a very long time since his wife had passed away. It was incredible how time went by, but, in fact, it was already two years since that time. He had become used to sleeping for only two or three hours a day. Sometimes at midnight, sometimes in the morning, but no more. He spent the day walking around the street, but he never dare cross the street at that exact point. It was the place where he had lost his wife, the point where he had lost his life.
If only he had not got drunk that night, if he had not driven back home it would be possible that he would not have run over his wife that night. But he did get drunk.

After the teacher review´s I find it more interesting. I have realised how a good story could become into an excellent story with the proper english. This encourages me to practice more my english.

I like your story Santi, and it also gives us something to think about: drinking and driving.
