I agree with Buettner in much of what he says.
It is true that people in towns as in Sardenia have long live expectancy, and I agree that this is because they are in continous exercise during their lives. You just have to go to small towns which are placed between mountains, you’ll see old women going up and down the street in perfect health. There is many people who go to the gym for instance three times a week, but they spend the rest of the week watching tv or sitting on their armchairs.
The enviroment in which we live is important too. In those towns there are less cars and polution, so the air is much better, clear and fresh.
Another important point is, what we have talked many times here, the diet. In USA they tend to eat vary badly, and the level of people who are overheight is very high. In my opinion they don’t have a healthy style of life, so it isn’t weird that they live less than other people from other countries.
Also socialising with other people, making friends, is another way of keeping healthy, not your body, but also your soul, or your mind. I tottaly agree with that.
ADD MORE LIFE TO YOUR YEARS; AND YEARS TO YOUR LIFE! great phrase

For me, the main point of this video, is the social point. We are social animals, we need friends for becoming healthier. Friends and family are the forgetted point in a healthy diet, we could take care of our body, but the most important point is to take care of our brain, we need to be active in a social way. Of course a correct diet it´s important, so on the enviroment, but for me, the most important thing is to have a clear mind, and our mind demands us a group of good friends to spend our lifes with.

It seems me a fascinating exposition! And I see a conection between the last part of his speech and my presentation. In my opinion, our mediterranean diet, physical activity and fifteen minutes per day to “disconnect” are essencial for a healthy style of life.

Hi, friends for me the life is a balance (always a balance to reach and keep this is the most difficult thing).

    That´s all, thanks.

It has been a very interesting speech. I practically agree with everything it has been said in the video.
From my point of view, the most important thing to live longer (although it is not always possible) or to get a good quality of life is getting a balanced life, but this is something difficult to achieve.
On the one hand, the biological nature of people plays a very important role, I don’t know why, but there are people who live longer than others.
Our rhythm of life is another factor that have influence in this aspect, logically it is not the same living in the mountains as living in the city. Living in the city is more stressful, we are always in a hurry because of our jobs, the children, the housework… , there is much more pollution, so it is less healthy and, although we are always running from one place to another, I think the majority of people have a sedentary life. They don’t have time to practise sport, or if they practise it they do it only twice or three times a week, but the rest of the days they don’t do anything and they go by car everywhere, they don’t do any physical effort. However, jobs from people who live in the mountains require more physical effort and they go everywhere on foot. Apart from this, life in the mountains is supposed to be more peaceful than in the city.

On the other hand, you are what you eat. I mean, our diet is very important to keep healthy as well, and of course, a rich social life. So we know, let’s get time to be in touch with nature, to meet with our friends and to follow a balanced diet!
