Guess the city

December 13, 2009

It is an attractive, well-preserved, little town. As it is perfectly integrated in its countryside, it is easy for town dwellers to enjoy the outskirts by having a pleasant walk. The river surrounds the city and on one of the banks, there is a beautiful alley, may be the most well known in Spain. The poplars in it have been immortalized by one of our best poets and the visitors have the chance of walking along the lovely promenade and they may also visit the two hermitages excavated in the mountain. It is worth visiting the city Gothic and Renaissance churches and palaces and its beautiful, enormous park in the middle of the town. And finally, we can’t miss the breathtaking view from the town two natural observatories which overlook the city and surroundings with the unforgettable “crossbow curve” of the river.

I’m very happy to read another post from you Amparo. I love your description of this city, which I haven’t visited for years. Definitely after reading your post I think I’ll have to book a weekend there. After all it is not that far away from Valencia, is it?

    Hi Amparo
It is Soria your beautiful town? It is Machado the poet and the Duero the river?
