EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

November 16, 2009

Communication is central to everything we do. Everyday we come into contact with other people in different ways: chatting with friends, bickering with our partner, gossiping with workmates, sending e-mails to people we don’t meet o maybe only making eye contact with a stranger in the tube.

If you want an effective communication of your ideas you’ll have to take care about some aspects like the place, your voice tone and the way you move your hands. For example, if you want to discuss a sensitive issue you’ll look for a quiet place where nobody can’t overheard your conversation and where you can explain yourself peacefully. On the contrary, if you are speaking to a crowd it’ll be better a large place and a high voice tone.

Especially for a conversation face to face, you have to pay attention that communication is a two-way process. The other speaker is not only someone to whom expose your point of view but also someone you have to listen carefully in order to ask him to repeat those things you don’t understand.
