Mora de Rubielos (Teruel)

October 26, 2008

If you love practising rural tourism, I´d like to recommend you a little town in Teruel called “Mora de Rubielos”. It´s a nice place for spending the whole weekend because there are different sports and cultural activities to do.

Some places you can visit are for example, the Castle (s.XVI) reconverted into a museum with ancient objects collected from the locals and also, it includes temporary exhibitions of art produced by artists from Teruel. The ticket is very economic (2 Euros). Besides, in summer evenings, theatre plays are performed in the courtyard.

In front of the castle, you can find a romanic style church (s.XV) . The entrance is free and its architecture is very interesting.

About sport activities, skiing is the main winter sport because Mora de Rubielos is near Javalambre´s ski stations. On the other hand, when the weather is very good, you can ride a horse or a bike,or enjoy  relaxing walk in the countryside, etc…

The food in all Teruel is extremly delicious, the perfect occasion to eat out, and there are a lot of restaurants to taste

Don´t forget to buy a some ham, which is very good and the most popular product…And, honey is a very natural and healthy product as well…

Summing up, this is a perfect place for rural tourism lovers to enjoy…

I’ve been to Mora de Rubielos a couple of years ago and I have to admit that this place is fantastic. I spent there a weekend in winter, and although it was really cold I had a great time.

We did a lot of things as sightseeing, going to have lunch or dinner to the typical restaurants, going shopping to the famous adidas outlet departament store and of course, visiting Javalambre´s ski stations.

So I also recommend you this nice town.

For everybody who likes skiing, this is the nearest place (besides Valdelinares) to go to ski for a weekend. And if you don’t like skiing, you shouldn’t miss the beauty of this landscape and stroll by there. People usually don’t Know Javalambre. That’s why,it’s less crowded.

I agree with you about Mora de Rubielos, and close surroundings, telling the truth all Teruel is an amasing place, a beautifull scenary. And You can do many things there. Practicing exating sports, eating delightful food, visiting nice villiges, seeing architecture full of character, enjoying with the summer cultural performances, etc…. But what I most enjoy there is to be walking trough the nature, it don’t mind which season you choose, listening my thoughts in the silence. Becouse fortunately silence still exists in Teruel.

Hello and thank you for your comments!!
I´ve been in the two places (Mora de Rubielos and Rubielos de Mora)and both are excellent and very similar.
I think Mora de Rubielos is bigger than Rubielos de Mora, but Rubielos has several places (ancient houses, the townhall, etc…)for sightseeing…
An information: The adidas outlet shop has been closed, and now, it has a different name and different owners
